About us

At EmpowerHer, we work with women who are navigating the complex realities of midlife—hormonal transitions, physical changes, shifting identities, demanding careers, family priorities and the quiet realisation that they don’t feel well. Our mission is to help women move from overwhelm, fatigue and self-doubt to feeling alive, energetic and hopeful about their future.

Our philosophy

EmpowerHer is founded on a whole-person approach—addressing the physical, emotional and cognitive dimensions of health. We combine the latest evidence in women’s health, nutrition, fitness, wellbeing and longevity with compassionate, personalised coaching that meets women where they are.

About me

Janine Gledhill — Founder, EmpowerHer

A woman with blonde hair smiling, wearing a teal blazer and white shirt, against a gray background.

Like many women I now work with, my path to becoming a health coach wasn’t linear: it evolved through lived experience, professional insight and a lifelong curiosity about what truly makes us thrive.

  • For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about health: reading, learning, experimenting and exploring ways to feel stronger, calmer and more capable in my own body. But for much of my adult life, that passion sat quietly in the background whilst I built a career as a leader in organisational transformation and change. My work focused on coaching teams and leaders to navigate complexity, uncertainty, improvement and growth. I helped organisations shift towards a new way of working, improve efficiencies or productivity, offer new products or services, or change organisational cultures.

Over time, I realised that the same principles I applied to organisations—bringing clarity and alignment, complex problem-solving, behavioural change, mindset and leadership—were equally powerful when applied at an individual level. My focus shifted from organisational transformation to personal transformation, and specifically to supporting women navigating the unique physical, emotional and psychological transitions of midlife.

  • Like many of my clients, I know the fatigue of juggling professional demands, family responsibilities as a single parent and the hollowness of feeling disconnected from myself. I understand what it’s like to look outwardly accomplished yet feel inwardly depleted and untethered.

During my forties, I also navigated my own set of challenges—from months of undiagnosed gluteal tendinopathy that left me in daily pain and barely mobile, to the surge in anxiety, low mood, night sweats, skin changes and weight fluctuations that seemed to arrive all at once. All of this was layered on top of the pressure of senior leadership roles and the emotional strain of single-parenting through a high-conflict separation. Living through that convergence of physical limitation, emotional turbulence and responsibility taught me not only resilience, but also the importance of compassionate, evidence-based, holistic support during midlife transitions.

  • At EmpowerHer, I combine my expertise in coaching business leaders with my understanding of health and longevity science and health coach training to help women create sustainable, meaningful change—not just in how they look and feel but in how they live.

I work with the whole person—physical, emotional and psychological—because health is never just about the body. It’s also about mindset, self-talk, purpose and belief.

My mission is simple…

To help women reconnect with themselves and design a future that feels vibrant, healthy, purposeful and authentically theirs.

How I can help

I see my role as a blend of Sherpa, Mentor and Coach:

Line drawing of mountain peaks with a small circle representing the sun in the sky, set against a circular brown background.

Sherpa

Walking alongside you as you climb your personal mountain, carrying some of the load. Guiding you through obstacles and reminding you of your strength when the path feels steep.

Mentor

Sharing insights drawn from both lived experience and my expertise and training.

Coach

Helping you bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it: building confidence, clarity and lasting change.
